  11. Here's a little something I'm working on right now. Since there
  12. don't seem to be a lot of stories at present, I thought I would
  13. post it and see if there's any intrest. Comments and suggestions
  14. via E-mail are welcome.

  18.      "Captian's log, stardate 45327.6. The Enterprise is enroute
  19. to the Norendra system, to rendevous with the Klingon ship Yay
  20. Batlh II to assist in the analysis of debris found there. The
  21. initial reports recieved indicate that the debris is the remains
  22. of a federation ship." 
  23.      Picard stepped through the door and into the football
  24. stadium-sized main hangar bay. In the bay were technitians and
  25. engineers, all bent to preparing the bay to recieve the debris
  26. that they would then have to analyze and peice together. Picard
  27. walked over to LaForge and Riker, who were at the oppisite end of
  28. the bay.
  29.      "Number one, we're scheduled to rendezvous with the Yay
  30. Batlh II in Four hours. When  we get to the Norendra system, I
  31. want you to beam over with Lt. Worf and Mr. Data, there to co-
  32. ordinate the transport of the wreckage here."
  33.      "Yes sir." said Riker. "We're just about ready here, and the
  34. transport of the wreckage is going to be handled by the bulk
  35. transporters in cargo bay three." Then Riker developed a slight
  36. grin. "You should have seen the mess we had getting the shuttles
  37. from this bay to fit into the other bays."
  38.      "A bit of a tight fit?" asked Picard.
  39.      "You can say that again." said Laforge. "The transporters
  40. can't handle beaming around all the shuttles, so  we actually had
  41. to do it manually. It reminded me of history classes in the
  42. academy when they told us about the traffic problems there used
  43. to be on Earth in the tweniteth century."
  44.      "But you did get them all secured?" Picard asked, only
  45. smiling a bit.
  46.      "Not quite. We got them all to fit, except for one." Geordi
  47. held up the PADD he was making notes on, and called up the new
  48. register of the shuttlecraft locations. "It's only a small
  49. shuttle, but we had to secure it on the outer hull. I wouldn't
  50. worry, though. It's magnetically clamped right outside the Bay
  51. doors, and it would take a hell of a knock to jar it loose."
  52.      Picard took a deep breath, and crossed his arms. "Well, I
  53. suppose that's the best that can be done for now. Carry on." He
  54. turned and left the bay, continuing his rounds.

  56.      Riker turned to Laforge, "Geordi, what do you think this
  57. wreckage is?"
  58.      "I don't know, Commander." Geordi said, standing up from his
  59. work on the PADD. "Wreckage from a federation ship, over twenty
  60. years old, and found in a system that at the time was controlled
  61. by the Kilgons? I just don't know."

  63.      Five hours later, Riker, Data, and Worf were on Board the
  64. Yay Batlh II, in her cargo bay.
  65.      "Commander Riker! Welcome on board the Yay Batlh II."
  66. Bellowed Captian Korg as he strode into the cargo bay. "I trust
  67. you are aquainted with the original Yay Batlh?"
  68.      "Oh course, Captian." said Riker. "The Yay Batlh was the
  69. ship that was destroyed by the Borg at our last encounter.
  70. Captian Korn was decorated for his part in that battle, wasn't
  71. he?"
  72.      "Yes. Captian Korn was my brother. He recieved the highest
  73. award possible, the NuqDaq Yuch Dapol. And I got the Yay Batlh
  74. II, the newest and finest ship in the empire. Tell me, Mister
  75. Worf, what do you think of my vessel?"
  76.      "Worf looked at Korg, then around the bay. "This is the only
  77. part of the ship I have seen. But I am sure it is a fine ship."
  78.      "Perhaps you would like a tour. Or perhaps a transfer?"
  79. asked Korg, a devious smile on his lips. 
  80.      "No thank you." said Worf. He was about to say more, when
  81. Data showed up with a small, rectangular shaped object.
  82.      "Commander, I found this in one of the piles of debris. It
  83. would appear to be a federation starship flight recorder."
  84.      "Is it intact?" asked Riker.
  85.      Data examined the outer casing of the chared black recorder.
  86. "Its main output ports have been damaged. However, a linkup with
  87. a tricorder might be able to extract the information."
  88.      "Try to punch up the last entry." said Riker. Data opened
  89. his tricorder and punched a few buttons. After a few seconds an
  90. image formed on the tricorder's screen. It showed a man in an old
  91. Starfleet uniform on the bridge of an Abassador class ship.
  92. Riker, Data, and Worf looked on in astonishment as he spoke, not
  93. because of the apparent battle damaged condition of the bridge,
  94. but because standing at his side was Tasha Yar.
  95.      "Ship's log, Commander Castille recording. After our
  96. assistance from the Enterprise-D, we have gone through the
  97. temporal rift and tried to defend the Norendra-3 outpost from
  98. Romulan attacks, but have failed. The Enterprise is crippled, and
  99. a Romulan boarding party has taked the bridge."
  100.      "Mr. Data, get this to the Enterprise right away." said
  101. Riker.
